Sharing a Flash Game from 2010 Belgium

Back in Time

In 2010, Knowledge Can Be Your Bulletproof Vest by Another Kind (Belgium) was one of many entries that we received for our 3rd annual game design challenge. This was the first year we received an entry from Another Kind.

That was also the same year we received a game which became one of our most popular - Grace's Diary from Hima in Thailand. These were very different games - but that is one of the wonderful things about our game design challenge; there are so many different styles and games created by so many different groups around the world.

Grace's Diary won first place that year and Knowledge Can Be Your Bulletproof Vest received an honorable mention award. Looking back, we realize how fortunate we are that Another Kind competed in our competition: in the years since this first entry, they went on to create five first-place games for us!

A Quick Puzzle Game

We are pleased to share this Flash game with you again and encourage you to give Knowledge Can Be Your Bulletproof Vest a quick play. You can play through all ten levels of the game in around 15 minutes.

In addition to the funky ASCII art style and clever puzzles found along the way, players are also treated to an original song written and performed by Jean HEHN of Another Kind.

  :

Unlike many of our games, this is not a narrative-rich game with relatable dialogue and meaningful characters. Instead, it is a straightforward puzzle game played with the arrow keys on your keyboard. Players hop and bounce around their screens, exploring the landscape to find letters spread throughout the ten levels of the game.

It's a relaxing, quirky, and appropriately challenging game we'd love to see shared in schools. Check it out and let us know what you think.

We think you'll enjoy it . . . and might even learn something new!
